Madison and Palmer’s celebration was the perfect Crooked River wedding! You may remember Madison and Palmer from their University of Tennessee senior session I did a couple of years ago, or from their Beauty Spot engagement session this past March. These two have been together for years, and it was so special to see that their wedding day was finally here! We have now photographed many milestones in both of their lives up to this point, and we were more than excited they wanted us to photograph their wedding day! These two live life to the fullest, and I knew their day would perfectly reflect this!

Crooked River Wedding

Madison and Palmer planned a beautiful Crooked River wedding in Hiltons, Virginia! Between the surrounding mountains, rolling farm land, a flowing river for the ceremony site, a tobacco barn for the bridal suite, and a beautiful grist mill for the reception, it is a peaceful view no matter where you look! Not only did we have a beautiful venue for the location, but the blue skies September has to offer never cease to amaze me. I am so glad Madison and Palmer had the best weather for their wedding day!

Color Palette

One of my favorite things about Madison and Palmer’s wedding day is the colors that they chose! Madison chose to stick with an overall neutral color palette and bring in some color with the florals! The bridesmaids wore taupe dresses and the groomsmen wore navy suits. She then brought in some beautiful rust tones throughout the florals (which I could have photographed all day long). Everything from Madison’s gown, her hairstyle, the florals, and decor is just classic and timeless!

Golden Hour

Once the ceremony was over, it was time for golden hour!! One of the best features for a Crooked River wedding is their open field for golden hour photos! It was the perfect spot for their bridal party photos, as well as their bride and groom portraits!

Reception Details

After the bride and groom photos were finished, it was time for the reception! The grist mill at Crooked River is truly astonishing! Even as you are driving on the backroads through Hiltons, this beautiful venue is seen from the road. It is a huge space for gathering with friends and family! I absolutely love how Madison and Palmer chose to decorate their reception. Everything was neutral yet colorful, and this reception area is full of light. It is truly a photographer’s dream!
