Bride + Groom
Walker and McKinley’s celebration was the perfect Glade Creek Farm wedding! Walker and McKinley actually went to preschool together, but reunited at the end of high school! It was so special to see that their wedding day was finally here! Their friends and families talked about how they just knew they were made for each other, and it is so evident how much they love each other. These two made us smile, laugh, and remember why wedding days are so joyful. And the best part? We got to capture it all and meet their sweet friends and family!
From the moment I had a consult call with Walker, I knew their wedding day was going to be a dream! Walker mentioned to me that she wanted their wedding day to be whimsical and fairytale like, and she accomplished just that! Between her wedding dress, the color palette, incredible weather, and the stunning venue, it was truly a day to remember!
Glade Creek Farm Wedding
Glade Creek Farm is a beautiful wedding venue in the heart of Cool Ridge, West Virginia. When we first drove up to the venue, I was SO excited to explore this West Virginia wedding venue! We first noticed a church chapel setting for a ceremony followed by a barn area for the reception. In between these two settings are acres of stunning landscape, greenery, and open fields. For a photographer who loves creating a variety of images on a wedding day, I knew this Glade Creek Farm wedding was going to be beautiful from start to finish.
First Look
One of my favorite moments of Walker and McKinley’s Glade Creek Farm wedding was their first look. Walker and McKinley had a completely private first look so they could focus on each other, and afterwards read their vows. When I asked Walker if she had a vision for her first look, she mentioned that she loved the pathway right outside of the bridal suite. Since the lighting was perfect, I was so excited to help her vision come to life. Once McKinley turned around to see his bride, he burst into tears in between smiling so big. They were both beyond excited to see each other, and you could just tell any nerves they had disappeared. Once they finished reading their vows, it was time for some bride and groom portraits, as well as the ceremony!
The Ceremony
The ceremony was another one of my favorite moments of this Glade Creek Farm wedding day! Glade Creek Farm’s chapel was built with repurposed wood, and the sides of the chapel are completely open to allow for better airflow. Not only did that make the perfect ceremony spot for an August wedding, but the light that poured in from the sides made their ceremony images that much more elevated. The lighting was stunning!
Walker and McKinley had a very short and sweet ceremony planned since they read their vows earlier in the day. Once these two were at the alter, they quickly exchanged rings and a kiss and were back down the aisle. They ended their ceremony with the perfect photo opportunity with all of their friends and families lined up in front of the chapel. Their guests tossed flower petals and cheered as Walker and McKinley walked down the middle, and it was such a joyful celebration of their marriage!
The Reception
Once we finished up more bride and groom portraits, bridal party photos, and family formals over at the chapel, it was time to have some fun at their barn reception! The reception area was beautifully decorated with strings of lights, gold and green accents, and many colorful floral centerpieces. As soon as Walker and McKinley entered their reception, they went right into their first dance! These two were so excited to have some fun and dance, and this was the perfect way to set the scene! Once they finished their dance, it was time to eat, cut the cake, and DANCE the night away! Walker and McKinley had the perfect playlist set and their guests did not disappoint in joining in on the dance party!
Thank you

First Look!
Once Walker and McKinley did their first look, they had to bring out their fur babies for a few photos! Sadie is on the left and Boozer is on the right!
This open air church chapel was designed with social distancing in mind, but let me tell you this is a wedding photographer’s dream for lighting purposes! Between the white reclaimed wood, the chandeliers, stained glass, and open air sides, it allowed for stunning bright photos that perfectly compliment my photography style!
This type of exit was Walker’s idea! She wanted all of her guests to be included in these photos as opposed to waiting until the very end of the reception. This is a great idea for a unique type of exit photo!
